Membership
Joining Fusion Credit Union
If you live, work or voluteer in the area served by Lichfield District Council you can join Fusion Credit Union and start saving today. This includes volunteer workers whose organisations are based in Lichfield.
If you are aged 16 or over, you become a full voting member and can save up to £10,000 with Fusion. You must be over 18 to take out a loan.
New members (except Junior Savers) are required to pay a one-off membership fee (£2) and deposit at least £1 into a savings account, which also buys you one share in Fusion Credit Union.
If you are under 16, you can become a “Junior Saver” and you do NOT need to pay the membership fee.
Here’s how to join us:
1. Download the membership application form. (You may need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader™ to view, print and save the document on your computer).
2. Complete all the sections on page 1.
3. Sign and date the application form.
4. Take the completed application form to one of the collection points together with at least 2 forms of identification, e.g. passport, driving licence, utility bill, benefits letter.
5. You will also need to bring with you the £2 membership fee and at least £1 savings to open the account.
As part of your membership, we will send you a passbook in which we will record your membership and savings.
Proof of Identity
By law all new members must provide their date of birth and separate documentary evidence confirming their identity and confirming their current address. A current driving licence, passport or birth certificate and a recent Council Tax or utility bill are usually sufficient. We will normally take a copy of the evidence for our records and to meet regulatory requirements regarding the prevention of money laundering. All personal details are treated confidentially. If you have any questions, please contact us for advice.
People who work but do not live in the Lichfield will need to provide evidence of their employment. A recent pay advice should be sufficient. If you have any problems with this, please contact us for advice.
