A safe way to borrow

Paying regular bills can be a headache, so when the unexpected happens, car failing MOT, household appliance breaking down, new school uniform, Fusion can assist with an affordable loan.
Why not compare our interest rates to other lenders and see how much a Fusion loan could save you?
Or take a look at the Money Saving Expert Website?

Interest is calculated daily on your reducing loan balance.  There are no penalty clauses for paying a loan earlier than your agreement, and the interest is fixed for the term of the loan.

All loans also benefit from free life insurance* and, as long as you keep up your repayments, there will be no extra fees or charges.

Loans are available to everyone, over 18, who lives, works or volunteers in the Lichfield or Cannock Chase District areas. Pop in to the office or telephone and talk to a member of our friendly team. (please note that our usual collection points are closed during the Covid crisis).

How Much Can I Borrow?

Fusion operates a lending policy designed to meet the needs of individual members. The amount you could borrow is always based on your ability to repay.

The amount that Fusion Credit Union will lend to its members is £50 – £400 for the first loan. Subsequent loans may be for a larger amount depending upon your circumstances..

Terms of the loan are determined by a loan committee and are considered on the financial information you provide at the time of your application.

The maximum term of repayment for a loan is normally 24 months (2 years).

*Conditions apply.

How to Apply

Members may apply to borrow from Fusion Credit Union either:

Having made regular payments into the savings account for three consecutive months.

Instantly if in receipt of Family Credit. With your consent we can arrange for your benefit to be paid to Fusion Credit Union directly. This will be split:

As an agreed amount to your Savings Account which you can access anytime.

As an agreed amount to pay off the loan

All Loans are subject to an affordability check. You will normally be asked to provide proof of your income and expenditure on your application.

We use a member’s track record of savings and borrowing when assessing loan applications.

In line with normal lending practices the credit union also uses a credit reference bureau to conduct credit searches.

This protection is provided at no extra cost, and means that should a borrower die, the cost of their outstanding loan balance will be settled.
