Fusion Credit Union is run by a number of volunteer directors and committee members. Here are details of some of the directors:
Chair- Janet Bamber
Janet is married with 2 children and lives in Lichfield. She was part of the original steering group, which set up Fusion Credit Union. Janet retired from the Derbyshire Building Society in 2006 after 21 years service; the last 8 years as Branch Manager. Janet previously worked for Barclays Bank in Birmingham and Lichfield for 12 years. Janet is also a Trustee on the Board of South Derbyshire Citizens Advice Bureau.
Director –Tim Warner
Tim is married and lives in Lichfield. Tim heads up the Fusion Credit Committee. A regular attendee at the Jigsaw collection point, Tim has been a volunteer for a number of years. Tim was previously employed by Tarmac as a Regional Production Manager, responsible for 7 factories in the Midlands area.
Director – Richard Hobbs, Treasurer
Richard is married with 2 grown children and lives in Lichfield. He has now taken on the role of Treasurer after being a regular volunteer at the Jigsaw Collection Point since March 2018. Richard took early retirement in 2007 after 32 years with Amey (infrastructure support service provider) as a Senior Commercial Manager, working on multiple million pound construction, and road and highway maintenance support service contracts, throughout the country.
Director – Ruth Gleeson, Secretary
Ruth, married with 2 grown children, Ruth and her Military husband settled in Lichfield following 21 years moving around the world with the Staffordshire Regiment where they visited and met many interesting places and people, which contributed to a broaden outlook on life. She has been an Administrative Volunteer with Fusion Credit Union since retirement in 2012. previously worked as a Tax Officer in H.M.R.C -Book Keeper, and then Westgate Medical practice in Lichfield for 22 years.
Director – Julie Stuttard.
Lived in Lichfield for 25 years. Married for 34 years to Peter, with 28 year old daughter Fritha.
Recently taken early retirement following redundancy from the NHS for whom I’d worked (as well as for Staffordshire County Council) for the last 13 years in Adult Social Care.
Volunteering at Fusion Credit Union has allowed me to become actively involved in the promotion of responsible borrowing and to encourage those most in need to better manage their finances through budgeting.
